Understanding Credit will meet on Monday, October 15 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. or from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The class will meet in the Adams/Vines Gallery on the ANC Blytheville Campus. Registration is free.
The average credit score in Arkansas is 634 (according to moneyland.time.com, February 2012) well below what is considered a healthy score of 720 or higher. These three little digits can have a tremendous impact on one’s finances. The score affects how much one pays from auto loans and insurance to utility deposits and can potentially affect one’s employability.
This session will cover the basics of what is a credit score, factors affecting a one’s score, what one can do to keep credit healthy and information on how and why to check one’s credit report. There will also be pointers on how to build or begin establishing credit. Learn how to look up your report on annualcreditreport.com. Staff from Northeast Arkansas Federal Credit Union will instruct the class.
To register, call Lena Ellington at (870) 762-3167 or email lellington@smail.anc.edu.
