Basic Dog Obedience class will be offered on Thursdays, September 13 – November 1 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. The class will meet on the H. Claude Bush Honors Plaza on the Blytheville campus. The fee is $105 for 8 sessions.
Dog Obedience is designed to help you better understand your pet. This course will enable you to train your dog to be a welcome member of the family. Information will include sits, sit-stays, down, down-stays, recall, standing for examination, leading in several formations, socialization skills, training as a companion dog and a well-mannered dog for the home.
Dick Hefner, the instructor, has trained dogs for 24 years. Hefner said he feels the intelligence of dogs is under-appreciated in our society. “Dogs have unconditional love and are always there for you. A well-trained dog is a joy to be around. It is easier to take him out in public and have other people come to your home and enjoy him,” Hefner said.
