Girl’s Basketball Camp

The Department of Community Education ofArkansasNortheastern College will offer Girls Basketball Skills Camp for Junior High and Senior High students. Coach Whitney Jones will present the camp to help players at every level to improve their basketball skills.  The camp will meet Monday through Wednesday, June 25 to 27, 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The class will meet in the Briggs/Sebaugh Wellness Center gym. Each camper needs to wear tennis shoes and workout gear. The fee is $30.  

Skill development and fundamentals are the most important part of a player’s development. This camp will focus on ball handling, passing, shooting, catching, and footwork on the offensive end. Defense will focus on individual skills, team concepts, rebounding and backboard drills.  Improving quickness and explosiveness will be emphasized. Coach Jones will break down and explain how, why and when to use each skill. Her goal is tor provide students with information to help them get to the next level. This camp is for the player who is serious about becoming a better player.

 Coach Jones is a former Lady Razorback, coached Amateur Athletic Union and provided individual basketball lessons. Coach Jones is currently a professional overseas basketball player in Bursa,Turkey.
