AARP Driver Safety Classes

The Department of Continuing and Community Education atArkansasNortheasternCollegeis offering the popular “AARP – Drivers Safety Program” to anyone 55 & older. The class will meet the following dates:
Monday, February 13, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the ANC Blytheville Campus
Wednesday, February 22, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Manila First Baptist Church
Wednesday, February 29, 9:00 a.. to 1:00 p.m. in the Ramey Center at the Westminster Village.
Veterans and their spouses are entitled to attend without any cost! They will need to show one of several available forms of identification, including DD Form 214, ID cards, etc. Only those Veterans and spouses 55 or older will receive mandated discounts from their insurance agency.
The AARP Driver Safety Program is a refresher course that helps senior drivers:
- Understand the effects of aging
- Adapt to changes we face as we grow older
- Identify the most common crash situations
- Reduce chances of having a crash
- Realize reduction in their insurance premiums.
There are no tests and no failures in this course. Happily, our graduates tell us:
- They are highly satisfied with their participation in the course.
- They will recommend taking the course to a friend.
- They changed at least one driving habit as a result of taking the class.
By successfully completing this four-hour course, your insurance premiums may be reduced from 5-14%. The first comprehensive nationwide course is especially designed for the older driver. The course will help update your driving knowledge and skills. Your certificate is good for 3 years. Limited enrollment. Fee is $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members.
