Dance Classes for All at Arkansas Northeastern College
Beginning Country & Western Line Dance
If you enjoy listening to country-western music, getting great exercise and being with friends, you may get a kick out of country and western dancing. Once you get a few lessons under your belt from veteran Country and Western dance instructors, Gay and John, you will have enough confidence for a night of dancing. The fee is $69 for 8 sessions. The class will meet on Mondays, Sept ember 28 – November 16 , 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. in the Clean Fun Club and Walker Park in Blytheville.
Advanced Country & Western Line Dancing
Line dancing is great for the mind, body and spirit! Grab a friend and come learn such favorites as the Cut a Rug, Bop the B, Sea Legs, Cajun Cross, Berlin Boogie, Good Time, Come Dance With Me, Lady Soul, Some Beach, and more. Fee is $69 for 8 sessions. Class will in the Clean Fun Club at Walker Park in Blytheville on Tuesdays, September 29 – November 17, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Country & Western Couple Dancing
Dance the country & western dances that are taking the country by storm. Learn the 6 Step, 2 Step, Polka, Cotton-Eyed Joe, Waltz, 10-Step Polka, Sweetheart Schottische, Easy Stroll, Cowboy Cha-Cha, Traveling Cha-Cha, My Kind of Girl, Rose, Butterfly Waltz, East and West Coast Swing, The Bump, Butterfly Waltz, Waltz Across Texas, & MORE! John and Gay Duclos will teach the class. Enroll by couples only. The fee is $69 a couple for 8 sessions. Class will meet on Thursdays, October 1 – November 19, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Dancing Like the Stars
Kiss those two left feet goodbye and —swing into fall! These classes are the perfect introduction to ballroom dancing. Get ready to have lots of FUN and be prepared for the holiday season! The instructor has been dancing for 6 years and learned to dance from an Arthur Murray dance instructor. The fee is $100/couple or $50/single for 4 sessions. The class will meet in the Statehouse Hall Governors Ballroom. April Ridenhower win instruct the class. Classes will meet:
Session I: (4 sessions) Waltz
Thurs. Sept. 24 – Oct. 15 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.
Session II: (4 sessions) East Coast Swing
Thurs. Oct. 22 – Nov. 12 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.
LEARN TO DANCE (ages 3 and up)
Dance classes in tap, ballet, and jazz offered by Michelle’s School of Dance. Fee $40/month for instruction: due on Aug. 25, Sept. 22, Oct. 20, Nov. 17. (16 sessions) Additional fees: recital, costume and registration.
Classes will meet in the Adams/Vines Recital Hall on the ANC Blytheville campus on the following dates:
Session I: Ages 7 – 11
Tues. Aug. 25 – Dec. 15 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.
Session II: Ages 3 – 6
Tues. Aug. 25 – Dec. 15 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.
Session III: Ages 12 – Up
Tues. Aug. 25 – Dec. 15 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.
There will be a “watch day” for parents on December 15.

Learn To Play The Guitar At ANC
Beginning Acoustic Guitar for ages 9 years old and up
In this introductory course, the student will learn basic strumming patterns, simple chord progressions, tuning methods and note identification. Students provide their own acoustic guitar and book. The fee is $45 for 6 sessions. Class will meet Tuesdays, August 25 to September 29 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m in room C101 in the Sullins Adminstration Building. (With a limit of 9 participants, register early.)
Intermediate Acoustic Guitar for ages 10 years old and up
This class is designed for the developing guitarist. Students in this class should already be familiar with basic guitar chords, note names and strumming. This class will combine classical guitar techniques with contemporary strumming/choral styles. Students will also learn scale patterns and fingerings. Student provides their own acoustic guitar and book. The fee is $45 for 6 session. Class will meet Tuesdays, August 25 to September 29 from 5:00 p.m to 6:00 p.m. in room C101 in the Sullins Administration Builing. (With a limit of 9 participants, register early.)
Instructor: Charles Moody has been playing the guitar, banjo, harmonica, and mandolin for over 30 years. Born in Memphis, he has recorded in major studios, toured the U.S. with different bands and played at countless festivals.
